A winter classic...

   Apple Walnut Sweet Potatoes

This recipe will never get old for me. I first began to experiment with sweet potatoes back in the summer after making sweet potato fries almost every night! I prefer sweet potatoes over white potatoes because they contain a bit more fibre, and a huge amount of vitamin A! I also find them to be more tasty :)

Servings: 2


  • 1 sweet potato
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
  • 1/3 cup chopped raw walnuts
  • 1/4 cup chopped apple


Peel and chop the sweet potato and allow it to boil in a pot of water with a pinch of salt for between 20-25 minutes. Drain the water from the pot and place the chopped sweet potato in a flat dish or bowl. Begin to combine your sweet potato together with the above ingredients. Mash your ingredients with your potato masher and then top your dish with some additional chopped walnuts,
